PPC OADM multiplexers act as on/off ramps for single mode Dense Wave Division Multiplexing (DWDM) by adding bands of channels to a WDM signal or removing and rerouting individual wavelengths to specific destinations while the remaining signals continue down the optical network trunk. OADMs are well-suited for applications with dedicated channels to business and small clusters of subscribers - especially commercial multi-tenant units (MTUs) and residential multi-dwelling units (MDUs).
