The Shipping Team Leader is responsible for achieving inventory accuracy goals and the timely delivery of finished goods in to the system by effectively assigning work to team members on assigned shift to ensure achievement of daily goals.
Shift: Sunday - Thursday 11:00pm - 7:30am (Overtime as needed)
Candidate must be able to train on 1st shift for 2-3 weeks
Supports the company’s on-time delivery goals by ensuring the timely delivery of finished goods to meet customer promised delivery dates through leading and motivating shipping personnel on assigned shift to strive for maximum performance.
Maintains accuracy of inventory by ensuring shipping personnel follow applicable policies and procedures set in place.
Pursues opportunities to improve operating efficiencies, product flow, quality, and reduce costs while maintaining maximum customer service.
Assesses daily production requirements within the department and reallocates staff as needed to accommodate the workload and ensure goals are met.
Trains shipping personnel upon hire and performs on-the-job training to ensure staff is adequately cross-trained in all job functions.
Serves as SAP resource for the shipping department and trains team members on system use.
Resolves issues as they arise and escalates to the Warehouse Manager as needed of situations that may adversely impact the achievement of department goals.
Creates an environment that promotes professional growth, respect for others, and encourages teamwork.
Enforces good-housekeeping standards and ensures work area is well maintained and clean during assigned shift.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education / Licensure / Experience:
Work is normally performed in a warehouse environment requiring prolonged standing.
Physical requirements needed to perform the job are visual skills to appropriately classify and separate similar looking parts, a normal range of hearing and eyesight to perform task, the ability to stand for long periods of time while performing work, and the ability to regularly lift, push and pull up to 40 pounds of material while performing frequent bending.
