The PPC Broadband team joined experts from across the international telecommunications and media industry to attend the ANGA COM Exhibition and Conference in Cologne, Germany,12 June to 14 June, 2018.
The annual event, which is organized by the Association of German Cable Operators (ANGA), attracted a record 500 exhibitors this year, and brought together innovations and insights from network operators, service providers and vendors from 36 countries.
ANGA COM Conference and Exhibition Highlights
Upwards of 19,000 participants attended the conference, which included feature presentations from 160 speakers.
Day One featured the International CTO Panel fronted by leading experts from Liberty Global, Tele Columbus, Arris, Com Hem,Cisco, Vodafone Deutschland and TDC Group.
A highlight of Day Two was the summit discussion, which covered recent developments in the broadband and media and markets, with input from Vodafone Deutschland, Deutsche Telecom, Sky Deutschland, ProSiebenSat.1 and Unitymedia.
The conference included 16 panels in English, which explored a range of key issues: from DOCSIS 3.1, Fiber to the Home (FTTH), Hybrid Fiber Coax (HFC) Networks and Multiscreen to Cloud Services, Copyright Law, Big Data, and Over the Top (OTT) Content.
PPC's newest connector technology
The exhibition provided an opportunity for PPC to showcase a selection of new products in the Fiber Lounge and adjoining Workstation.
The Fiber Lounge featured demonstrations of PPC's QuikPush® customer drop - a device which enables installers to connects subscribers by pushing in cable via a pre-installed Microduct.
The demonstration provided a first-hand illustration of how slack is stored in the customer wall terminal and included advice on how to assemble SC/APC Balistix Connectors and LC/APC Balistix Connectors onto QuikPush Cable.

Slip-Resistant Wrench Compatible Hardline Connector
A specialized slip-resistant wrench incorporates machined grooves to enable safer installation and is reverse compatible with the original PPC design, featuring the same "Best in Class" RF, mechanical, electrical, environmental performance.
QuikTight™
The simple-to install and consumer-friendly SignalTight® jumper technology establishes a complete connection in 2-3 turns.
When used together, QuikTight and SignalTight help to maintain ground contact between the connector and the port, to prevent noise from entering the system.
REVConnect® Category Cable
A field mountable REVConnect plug eliminates the jack, box and patch cord assembly that is normally required to plug in devices - and addressing AV needs for WiFi connectivity, wireless access points, building security systems, digital signage, audio mixing consoles, HVAC and LED lighting.
Multi-Fiber MDU Solution Set
For the first time, PPC also showcased its new multi-fiber MDU solution set, comprising a hallway distribution cable and break out boxes from where the customer drop is taken inside to the wall outlet in the individual apartments.
Save the Date - ANGA 2019
The PPC team will look forward to returning to Cologne's Koln Messe for the next ANGA COM conference, which has been announced for June 4 to 6, 2019.
