PPC Broadband customers gain immediate access to premier integrated cabinets
PPC Broadband, Inc. (“PPC”), a Belden brand and leading developer and manufacturer of connectivity solutions, is pleased to announce the acquisition of the assets of Special Product Company (“SPC”), a U.S.-based manufacturer of integrated fiber enclosures.
With the addition of the SPC assets, PPC is now able to offer its global customers a range of new products, including outdoor cabinets, indoor cabinets, repeater enclosures and other related fiber solutions. The move further expands a growing family of PPC products used in outside plant segments of the optical fiber network.
Founded in 1987, SPC has a reputation for quality and the development of products tailored to meet unique customer needs. Throughout the last four decades, it has become a major supplier to cable MSOs and telecommunications providers, and has positioned itself to support the latest in 5G and IOT technologies.
The move is the fifth major fiber products addition to the PPC brand in recent years. In 2016, PPC purchased UK-based M2FX and two years later, in 2018, PPC’s fiber unit grew to include optical passive products acquired through the purchase of Net-Tech Technology (NT2). In early 2019, PPC acquired the FutureLink® line of fiber enclosures, quickly followed by the absorption of global fiber solutions provider OPTERNA®.
